Hang it, set it, let the air do the work. Three stainless steel biltong bundles with racks and butcher hooks in the box, sized from a batch at home to a medium business, plus an industrial cart line for full production. Ambient Air Mode dries at room temperature with the heater off, and low heat from 60°F is there when the weather won’t cooperate.

Just arrived. Bang on time and looking forward to bigger batches of our air-dried venison snacks!
The dryer is “burning-in” right now and the first batch goes in this afternoon.

Loving it! As a South African in Ireland, it’s a bit more of a challenge to make biltong due to the high humidity, This product is banging!
Amazing little machine. Made the best biltong I’ve ever had first try. Came literally the next day after ordering.
First batch of biltong drying now. Going very well so far. Seems well made and runs very quietly.
Outstandingly well constructed unit. Digital display work well. All the trays, rack and hooks are well made and sturdy.
I bought it a few months ago and made biltong... The dehydrator is easy to operate and my products were very yummy.
Great so far... Now to do some venison biltong.

Biltong times vary with cut thickness, cure and room humidity; squeeze a piece to check for give. Specs from Benchfoods product pages.

A DIY or plastic biltong box runs about $50 to $150. The Benchfoods range starts at $374 with racks and hooks included, and goes up to full production lines. That difference deserves a direct answer.
A box with a small fan and often a light bulb for warmth. Fine for a few strips, but airflow and temperature depend on the room around it.
Stainless steel construction, biltong racks and butcher hooks, Ambient Air Mode with the heater off, and low heat from 60°F when the room is cold or damp.
Stainless steel, a closed chamber and a 199-hour timer are not the same product as a box with a bulb.

Four things separate a biltong dryer from a box with a fan. Use them to compare any brand, not just ours.
Biltong dries in moving air, not heat. Ambient mode runs the fans with the heater off, so the meat dries slowly instead of cooking on the outside. Hang pieces with space between them so air reaches every side.
Cold, humid rooms slow biltong down. A low heat setting from 60°F, adjustable in 1°F steps, lets you add a little warmth without cooking the outside.
Vinegar-cured meat only touches stainless steel: biltong racks, butcher hooks, a stainless drip tray and 304 food-grade trays. Nothing to rust, stain or hold odors between batches.
Most biltong makers outgrow their first batch size. Buy the size you’ll need next season, look for UL & NSF certification if you plan to sell, and a warranty long enough to cover years of multi-day runs. Benchfoods backs its machines for 5 years.
It depends on how much you hang. Biltong at home: the 10-Tray bundle. A first small biltong business: the 16-Tray bundle, UL & NSF certified on a standard 110V outlet. Two batches at two settings: the 32-Tray 2-Zone bundle. Production volumes: an industrial cart, configured with our team.
Plan on roughly three days, then check the meat rather than the clock. Thickness, cure and room humidity all change the time; squeeze a piece, and when there is only a little give in the middle it is ready. The 199-hour timer covers multi-day runs.
Each bundle is the dehydrator plus stainless steel biltong racks and butcher hooks: 1 rack and 15 hooks with the 10-Tray, 2 racks and 60 hooks with the 16-Tray, and 4 racks and 120 hooks with the 32-Tray 2-Zone. Stainless mesh trays and drip trays are in the box too; check the product page for the full list for your size.
Pick the biltong dehydrator that fits your batch. Free domestic shipping*, 120 days to change your mind and a 5-year warranty.
